What We Do

Sheet Metal Fabrication
Floors, sills, firewalls, tubs — whatever needs replacing, we fabricate in-house. If it can’t be bought, we make it. Factory look or custom fit — we build it to suit.
Engine & Driveline
We build and fit engines to suit — whether you need a fresh powerplant, driveline install, or just want your existing motor sorted. From cruisers to performance builds.
Panel Beating & Body Prep
We handle every bit of bodywork ourselves — welding, shaping, gapping, and blocking until it’s ready for paint. No shortcuts, just solid foundations for a proper finish.
Auto Electrical
Old wiring looms are usually cracked, butchered, or just plain stuffed. We sort it properly — full rewires, repairs, or modern upgrades, all done clean and reliable.
Paintwork
Once the panels are right, we lay down the colour. Whether you want original factory paint or a custom mix, we do it in-house — primers, basecoats, clears, and final cut and buff.
Custom-Made Parts
Some parts just don’t exist — so we make them. With gear like lathes, welders, benders, and presses in the shop, we can fabricate whatever’s needed. Brackets, mounts, tunnels — made to fit, built to last.
Interior & Upholstery
Need a fresh seat setup or a full retrim? We handle everything from roof linings and carpets to full custom interiors. Whether you want a period look or something a bit more plush — we’ll stitch it to suit.
Servicing & General Repairs

Battersby & Gumkowski Garage is led by Levi and Kobi— two highly experienced builders with a long history in the classic car world.

Kobi founded one of the Gold Coast’s most respected mechanical workshops, while Levi built a reputation through high-end restorations and traditional metalwork. Together, we’ve spent decades refining the way old vehicles are rebuilt — from Australian classics to rare imports.

We set up this garage because we know how hard it is to get quality, reliable work. That’s why everything is done in-house — fabrication, panel and paint, engine building, wiring, interiors — all under one roof, built to our standard.
